What is the difference between modern mining (NODs) and Traditional mining?

💻Traditional mining is used in blockchains that use a Proof of Work (PoW) mechanism, such as Bitcoin. Miners use special devices (ASICs) or the processing power of their computers to solve complex mathematical problems to add new blocks to the transaction chain. The reward for successfully adding a block consists of new coins issued and transaction fees.

📱Nodes are nodes in the blockchain network that can be different in nature and functionality. In the context of Bitcoin, full nodes store a complete copy of the entire blockchain history and verify each transaction according to the rules of the protocol. They do not mine or create new blocks, but play an important role in securing the network by verifying and validating the legitimacy of transactions and blocks.

Thus, the main difference lies in the functions: mining is aimed at creating new blocks and securing the network through computational power, while nodes are involved in maintaining the integrity of the blockchain and verifying transactions without performing computational tasks to create blocks.
